Middle School students from Downey Unified were given a mission to create a solution to real-world problems facing our oceans using their S.T.E.A.M. knowledge. Our winning teams designed innovative ideas that will enable us to keep our oceans clean and healthy. Big ideas can come from anywhere!

Developed a cost-effective storm drain filter to separate garbage from water before emptying into the oceans.
