CARROT GROUP TO DEVELOP AND LEAD YOUNG INNOVATORS PROGRAM AT XPRIZE VISIONEERING

The younger attendees at the marquee event will learn to build rockets, robots, and solar cars as well as hear from industry experts

Los Angeles, CA (June 3, 2019)
– Carrot Group announced today they have been selected to design and run the Young Innovators Program (YIP) within XPRIZE’s signature summit, Visioneering, this October. Visioneering is an annual event that brings together roughly 400 thought leaders and changemakers from around the world to generate new ideas for XPRIZE initiatives and address humanity’s grand challenges. Visioneering attendees are invited to register their child(ren), ages 8-17, and bring them to YIP, the separate three-day program centered around STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) activities. Visioneering will take place at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, CA, this year.

Roughly 80 young innovators are expected at this year’s YIP. The overall goal of the immersive program is to empower the attendees to take part in shaping their future with the vast array of STEAM tools now available. Carrot will lead the group through a Design Thinking process of collaborative concepting and engineering solutions as well as their own Visioneering-style group pitches to solve some of the world’s greatest problems. Carrot emphasizes that teamwork, communication, and other such “power skills” are central to success within the STEAM fields.

“We are proud to work with XPRIZE again to develop the Young Innovators Program within their annual marquee event,” said Alan Zack, president of Carrot Group. “Visioneering is a truly inspiring event and a great platform to generate disruptive solutions to real-world problems. We bring that same inspiration to engage the next generation of innovators.”

YIP includes hands-on workshops in robot building and programming; rocket assembly and launching; and solar car construction. Additionally, the young attendees will hear from industry leaders in the science fiction, space travel, and the environmental fields. This year, the YIP attendees will also explore the inner workings of Paramount Studios and the Columbia Memorial Science Center in Downey, CA.
